True Haven Press
Terms & Conditions
Client's Rights & Royalties
At True Haven Press, your work remains entirely your own. We do not claim or retain any rights to your book — you retain full ownership of your intellectual property. True Haven Press handles professional book preparation and delivery to Amazon and IngramSpark for printing, shipping, and distribution. Authors keep 100% of royalties earned.
Manuscript Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted as Microsoft Word documents (.doc or .docx). PDFs are accepted but require conversion and formatting fees.
Editing Process
Authors must review editorial work using a laptop or desktop computer with Microsoft Word installed to prevent formatting errors. Our editing team provides professional suggestions following industry standards, but authors maintain final creative control.
All editorial feedback — including suggestions, rewrites, and notes — will be provided using Microsoft Word's Track Changes feature. Training and support for Track Changes are available upon request.
The publisher flags potentially questionable material but assumes no liability for libel, plagiarism, or copyright infringement claims. Responsibility for such matters remains with the author.
Cover and Interior Book Design
The design process is collaborative with unlimited revisions within reason. Excessive change requests may incur additional fees. All design files are guaranteed compliant with KDP and IngramSpark requirements.
Publication
True Haven Press partners with Amazon KDP and IngramSpark but cannot control delays, shipping issues, or content-related rejections from those platforms. Distribution partners bear responsibility for such disruptions.
Marketing
Marketing services are offered on a fee-for-service basis and include campaigns, social media advertising, and audience targeting. Publisher does not guarantee specific results or book sales.
AI Disclosure Required by Distributors/Retailers
Clients must disclose AI-generated content (text, images, translations) used in publication materials when required by distributors or retailers. AI-assisted content — where authors created original work and used AI tools for editing or refinement — need not be reported under standard disclosure requirements.
Communication
Communication occurs through Zoom, email, and telephone as needed. Timely author responses are essential to maintaining project schedules. The publisher reserves the right to withhold branding from work that does not meet professional standards.
Intellectual Property
All campaigns, slogans, artwork, written materials, drawings, photographs, graphic materials, or other materials subject to copyright that are created by True Haven Press become your property upon full payment. Work remains publisher property until full payment is received.
Indemnities
Authors indemnify True Haven Press against third-party claims involving libel, plagiarism, privacy invasion, or copyright infringement related to author-supplied materials. Authors also indemnify the publisher regarding personal injury claims arising from their products or services.
The publisher may withhold branding and choose the publishing imprint at its discretion.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina. Authors consent to venue in North Carolina state and federal courts.
Payment Plan
If installment payments are selected, clients must pay according to the agreed schedule. Default may result in project timeline adjustments or service suspension or termination.
Term
The agreement commences upon execution and continues until all contracted services are completed.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
All payments made to Publisher for services are non-refundable. Our services involve substantial time and creative effort once initiated.
Upon cancellation, unused funds may be reallocated to alternative deliverables or refunded at the publisher's discretion. The publisher may terminate services for client breach without refund.
